Chris CookeBorn on 29th June 1980, Chris Cooke is another Westcountry racing star, working in the motor-trade in PLYMOUTH.
National Junior Kart Champion in both 1994 and 1995, Chris secured a huge opportunity in 2004 by signing for Gavin Wills's Team West-tec in the Days of Thunder ASCAR Championship at Rockingham in the car supported by the UK Government's on-line learning provider learndirect and Tresham Institute, an important component part of the National College for Motorsport.
At the end of 2002, Chris took a Team West-tec ASCAR machine around the Rockingham oval at an astonishing pace for a "first-timer". Since then, oval racing has been close to the top of his list of motor-sporting ambitions.
Chris took the enigmatic LEGENDS series by storm in his "rookie year" (2000) with 5 wins and, again, in 2001 with 8 victories (including the establishment of new lap-records at Brands Hatch, Knockhill and Donington). In 2002 Chris proved his speed in the Radical Endurance Series, driving with Jonathan Coleman in the Howards Motor Group entry.
Chris is a very rapid young driver - aiming for the top.
In 2003, he became one of the most successful ASCAR Days of Thunder rookies when he competed in five of the rounds within the ASCAR series with Colin White's CWS Team and also made his racing debut for West-tec.
Away from the sport in 2006, Cooke looked to return to a major series in 2007 such as the Porsche Cup, British GT or SCSA (the new name for the Days of Thunder Series). Chris tested a VdeV Series Juno for the first time at the end of May 2007. However, Chris had high hopes of piloting an RPM Ginetta G50 in the GT4 Class of British GT in 2008 but the deal hasn't yet been done.
