Joshua Fisher 23 years old on 14th May 2008, BRDC "Rising Star" Joshua Fisher was runner-up in the inaugural Martin Hines ZIP FORMULA Championship in 2002 and is another strong graduate from karting in the South West of England (as is his younger brother, Felix Fisher). Father, Brian, and mentor, John Pugsley, re-established QUANTEXE RACING from their Bridgwater base in 2002 to pursue Joshua's successful Zip Formula challenge.
In 2003, Quantexe Racing moved to the BARC's Formula Renault series where Joshua finished a close second in the Championship points standings at season's end, having enjoyed an immensely strong second half to his year. Joshua and Quantexe Racing embarked on a full season in the Formula BMW UK Championship this year with a view to moving on up to the full Formula Renault Championship in 2005; Fisher has already put in some impressive lap times in a Motaworld FR car at Brands Hatch during private testing and is on a number of top Team Managers' shortlists for the future.
In 2001, Joshua Fisher became the first ever 16 year old race driver to win races in three different disciplines in the same year - and in his very first year of car-racing. He achieved two wins out of six races in Formula Honda, a win (and 2 seconds and 2 thirds) in Graham Hathaway's Global GT Lights and a win too in the Zip Formula Winter Series.
Joshua's first outing in 2003 was a one-off appearance in Round One of the National Mobile Windscreens Castle Combe FF1600 Championship on Saturday 29th March - in this the very first FF race of his career, he duly put the car on pole and won a close-fought race.
Joshua Fisher - definitely one to watch. At the close of play in 2004, Joshua achieved a superb third place overall in the inaugural Formula BMW UK Championship and, even more significantly, he scored more outright wins than any other driver - despite the quality of the young driver opposition from all over the world. Formula BMW UK in 2004 was certainly one of the hardest fought championships in motor-sport and "Josh" is a genuine star of tomorrow.
After experience in and a category win in the National Class of British Formula Three in 2006, Fisher had a truncated season in 2007 but he still won races in the Formula Ford Championship at Castle Combe and his success continued in 2008 with a triumphant Castle Combe FF Championship title win, second place overall in the 2008 Walter Hayes Trophy at Silverstone at season's end as well as some strong performances in the new UK V de V sportscar Championship.
