Adam Sharpe

Born 12th September 1984 Adam Sharpe has already made a real impact in the world of GT and Sportscar racing and is famous for introducing the Australian V8 muscle-cars into the UK via his ASM (Adam Sharpe Motorsport) operation.

The 23-year old from Somerset who has dual Australian and British nationality is managed by his cricket-mad brother, Toby Sharpe, and by Roger Phillips with support from Castle Estates www.castleestates.com - an independent Estate Agency working from Denia on Spain's Costa Blanca (but also dealing with property in Australia!), Velocity Pay and others.

Sharpe recently completed his B.Sc degree course in Technology Management at Oxford Brookes University and he started the 2005 season racing the exciting Binnie Motorsports LOLA B05/40 (pictured left), the first example of this then brand new chassis to be sold to a customer.

A graduate of T-Cars in the UK, Adam went on to race Ford Fiestas in 2001 and competed in the Renault Clio Cup in '02. He flirted with single-seaters in 2003 in Formula Palmer Audi but his goal has always been Le Mans and he is already potentially one of the world's sports/GT superheroes. Adam helped clinch the Team Championship for Phil Hindley's Tech 9 outfit in British GT in 2004 and finished runner-up in the Cup Class drivers' championship, despite missing the first two meetings (four races).

Adam drove the No 36 Paul Belmondo Racing Courage Ford 2.0 Turbo in the LMP2 Class on 18/19 June 2005, gaining a tremendous second place in the highly competitive LMP2 (Prototype) Category. He drove the Belmondo car again in the Silverstone round of the Le Mans Endurance Series that August too.

Sharpe is committed and highly marketable.

In June 2008, Sharpe intends to be back at Le Mans in an LMP2 Prototype with his 2005 driving partners, Karim Ojjeh and Claude-Yves Gosselin. They will be using an ex-works Zytek 07S/2 and will be backed by Swiss financial services company, Trading Performance.
